Evelyn Encalada Grez est une spécialiste du travail transnational, une organisatrice du travail communautaire et une professeure adjointe en études du travail à l’Université Simon Fraser. Elle est également cofondatrice du collectif primé Justice for Migrant Workers, J4MW, qui défend les droits des travailleurs agricoles migrants au Canada depuis deux décennies. Ses recherches font le lien entre le militantisme de base et les études universitaires et, grâce à cette approche, elle a largement documenté la vie des travailleuses agricoles migrantes mexicaines qui travaillent et se forgent des moyens de subsistance transnationaux entre le Canada rural et le Mexique rural.
Dr. Evelyn Encalada Grez is a transnational labour scholar, community-labour organizer and Assistant Professor in Labour Studies at Simon Fraser University. She is also the co-founder of the award wining collective, Justice for Migrant Workers, J4MW that has advocated for the rights of migrant farmworkers in Canada for two decades. Her research bridges grass-roots activism with academic scholarship and through this approach she has extensively documented the lives of Mexican migrant farmworker women who work and forge transnational livelihoods between rural Canada and rural Mexico.

Sinda Garziz est une immigrée amazighe, africaine, arabe au Canada, militante pour la justice des migrants, travailleuse multiculturelle au centretown community health Center (CCHC) et poursuit actuellement une maîtrise en innovation sociale à l’Université Saint-Paul. Née et élevée en Tunisie, elle a obtenu en 2012 sa première licence en psychologie à l’Institut des sciences humaines de Tunis. Elle a rejoint le réseau transnational No One Is Illegal qui milite contre les frontières, le régime des visas et apporte son soutien aux migrants et réfugiés dans différents pays d’Europe du Sud essentiellement et d’Afrique du Nord. Elle a participé à l’arrêt de différentes déportations de sans-papiers en Tunisie et en Allemagne et a fait un travail de plaidoyer contre la politique de laisser mourir les migrants en Méditerranée et la militarisation des frontières européennes. En 2013, elle a déménagé à Ottawa pour commencer son deuxième diplôme en études sur les conflits et les droits de l’homme à l’université d’Ottawa et a rejoint Personne n’est illégal – le chapitre d’Ottawa et depuis lors, elle a été impliquée dans différents comités et campagnes tels que le comité de soutien Justice for Deepan, Refugee Welcome – Ottawa, The End Immigration Detention Network et The Sanctuary City Network.
Sinda Garziz is an Amazigh, African, Arab immigrant in Canada, a migrant justice activist, a multicultural worker at the centretown community health Center (CCHC) and currently pursuing an MA degree in social innovation at the St. Paul University. Born and raised in Tunisia, in 2012 she completed her first BA in Psychology at the Human Science Institute of Tunis. She joined the transnational network No One Is Illegal advocating against borders, visa regime and providing support for migrants and refugees in different countries in South Europe essentially and North Africa. She participated in stoping different deportations of undocumented migrants in Tunisia and Germany and did advocacy work against the left to die policy in the Mediterranean Sea of migrants and the militarization of European borders. In 2013, she moved to Ottawa to start her second degree in Conflict and Human Right Studies at the university of Ottawa and joined No One Is Illegal – the Ottawa Chapter and since then she has been involved in different committee and campaigns such as the Justice for Deepan Support Committee, Refugee Welcome – Ottawa, The End Immigration Detention Network and The Sanctuary City Network.

Aimee Beboso a commencé à s’organiser à l’Université Carleton avec la reconstruction de l’Association des étudiants philippins de l’Université Carleton (CUFSA), ce qui a conduit à la création de l’émission de radio -Talakayang Bayan- à CKCU 93.1FM. Aimee, en tant que productrice et réalisatrice, a fait participer des jeunes de la communauté (dès l’âge de 14 ans) pour présenter des nouvelles et encourager la discussion sur des questions telles que les droits de l’homme aux Philippines.
Elle est l’actuelle présidente de Migrante Ottawa, une organisation qui défend les droits et le bien-être des travailleurs migrants et de leurs familles.
Aimee Beboso started organizing at Carleton University with the rebuilding of the Carleton University Filipino Students Association (CUFSA) which lead to the creation of the radio program -Talakayang Bayan- at CKCU 93.1FM. Aimee, as producer and director, has been involving youth from the community (as young as 14 years of age) to deliver news pieces and encourage discussion on issues such as human rights issues in the Philippines.
She is the current chair of Migrante Ottawa; an organization that advocates for the rights & welfare of migrant workers and their families.
