This symposium aims to create a venue for dialogue to discuss the limits of some theoretical approaches and bring out new critical perspectives by taking into consideration contemporary issues such as violence, discrimination, transformations of health, education, social systems, etc. How should we make sense of these times? How can critique help us resist commonly accepted ideas and develop a practice that allows us to radically overturn global neoliberal rationality?
To answer these questions, this colloquium is honoured to welcome three internationally renowned guests and key figures in contemporary critical theory: Glen Coulthard, Nancy Fraser and Hartmut Rosa. In addition to these three major conferences, more than 23 participants will present their reflections on the crises of our time.
The event will take place from October 19 to 21, 2022 at three different universities: University of Ottawa, Saint Paul University and Université du Québec en Outaouais. The event is the result of an inter-university collaboration, in partnership with the Research Center on Social Innovation and Transformation and the Atelier d’innovation sociale Mauril-Bélanger.
